Thank You Port Angeles for a Successful 2017  Pink-Up Port Angeles Campaign!

Once again, the citizens and businesses of Port Angeles demonstrated their generosity by supporting Operation Uplift through the Pink-Up Campaign. For the past several years, the community has come together to support this event. The City Council recognized this effort by declaring that for one week, Port Angeles would be called “Pink Angeles.”

Through generous donations, Operation Uplift (OU) will be able to continue to offer services to cancer victims and survivors in our city and county. For the past 12 years, Soroptimist International of Port Angeles, Noon Club (SIPA), has advocated for OU through a variety of fund raising activities. This past summer they sponsored a bake sale, golf tournament and quilt raffle. In addition, they solicited donations from many members of this community. As a result of these efforts, $14,000 was raised for Operation Uplift.

Operation Uplift has been a continuous resource for this community since it began in 1983. This donation will be used to assist individuals and families as they battle all types of cancer. Operation Uplift offers free breast health clinics, limited financial support, 24 hours per day telephone support, and supplies for cancer survivors. All funds raised will be used within Clallam County. The organization is managed by a volunteer Board, there are no paid employees. You can contact OU by phone, 360 457-5141 or online at www.operationuplift.org.

Thanks to the more than 67sponsors of Pink-Up this year, to SIPA for your tireless work and to Linda deBord, for your vision that began the Pink-Up effort. Because of this support, Operation Uplift will be able to continue to offer support to the citizens of our community.
